Hi folks!
Here some words. The “25 years anniversary show”
at the Headbangers Ballroom was a big success and a great experience for
the audience and the band. At this evening many people found the way into
this well known venue for metal and hard rock bands. The support act
“Tonus” with their female lead singer “Jana Hedrich” built up a good show
and a great warm up for the headliner. After a short “change the set”, the
intro “Honolulu baby” from Laurel & Hardy runs through the PA with a
handclapping accompaniment from the audience. Not Fragile entered the
stage with “Monsters of metal“and “Starlight to the revolution” from the
21st century album. The follow up was the own classic track
“Made of metal“who had his first time on stage at 1983. The next song in
the line was calling”The beast in black” from the bands actually album
release “Time to wonder“. In front of a great PA sound, from “Mac”, the
man on mixing desk the audience was in a great mood.
The first highlight on this evening was the appearance
of the guest musician “Sascha Maurer”, in his case Titan Steele-singer and
employee of Hellion Records. Sascha did a great job on his own personally
Not Fragile favourite song “Like Guardians”. The audience really like to
sing the chorus. At the end of the song the band change their instruments
into acoustic guitars while the audience sing along the chorus. Sascha
left the stage with a great applause. Two more unplugged songs followed up
his great performance. An acoustic version from “Blood on the land” and
the Rolling Stones track “Paint it black”. The audience was very pleased
with this variety.
The next highlight was the appearance of “Markus Köhn”
the long time Not Fragile musician and still a big friend of the group. He
entered the stage together with his older brother “Thomas” who was playing
in the ´80 by a heavy metal band named “Vengeance”. Today they played
together by “Copy Shop”, a great cover band for all styles.
Drummer “Michael Link” was very pleased with these
upcoming guests, because he had time for a little rest. Then Markus fired
up his double bass attacks on “Battle-eagle” with the classic follow up
“One way to glory” from the 1989 EP release. The last live appearance of
this track was more than 10 years ago.
Then another special killer classic track, in this
case a proper version of Rainbows “Man on the silver mountain” runs
through the PA system. After this special performance Markus and Thomas
left the stage, naturally with a very big applause.
The next song “Starbreaker” should be playing together
with the master drummer “Mike Terrana” who was played four tracks on the
“Time to wonder” album, but this evening he had a gig with “Rage“so he
could not come along to the Headbangers Ballroom.
Michael “Mitch” Link did a fantastic job on this song,
although Mike Terrana built up a high level on the album version. There
were only ups and no downs on this evening, kind of magic, very special.
The final highlight was the upcoming song with some
very special guests. “Jutta Weinhold”, “Jana Hedrich” and “Didy´s”
daughter “Melanie” create a bombastically melodic wall of backing vocals
at the “Time to wonder” album track “Queen of the sea”. The reactions from
the audience were fantastic. The last in line songs of the regular set
were “Rough´n´ready man” and the all time “Motörhead” killer “Locomotive.
The encore shouting was extraordinary and the band
doesn’t wait to long, to fire up a crushing version from “The Sweets”
“Hell raiser” and a fully loaded “Blood on the land”.
The audience said thanks with a frenetic applause to a
very luck band.
For Not Fragile this anniversary show could be not
better. So we can say a big special “THANK YOU” to our families, our
friends, our label Hellion Records, the Headbangers Ballroom and last not
least the fantastic audience.
Thanks a lot & Cheers
